I want to share with you some terrific news.
When we study the Bible, we are reminded that God has special timing for His plans. He had a certain time for the Israelites to leave Egypt and return to Canaan. Esther was born for such a time as this. And, of course, Jesus came at the appointed time of God. (Galatians 4:4 But when the set time had fully come, God sent His Son…)
Now I’m quite sure that there are reasons for God’s timing which are beyond our grasp. We certainly don’t know it all. Yet there are some observations which are obvious when we think about them.
One of those observations is that when Jesus came, the world was at a perfect time for the Gospel to be advanced. Rome dominated all of the known world at that time, and the world was at peace. They had connected the territories by advanced roads and designated travel routes so that it was easier than ever to move from place to place.
Before the Romans, the Greeks had been in power and had spread the Greek language throughout the territory. Most people in all of the countries could speak or understand the Greek language.
Sometimes we overlook some of the natural elements which were in place at the time of Jesus. But our Father God works in all of it. And brings His plans to pass on many different levels – the spiritual and the natural.
Because of these things, it was easier than ever for Paul to travel from place to place – throughout the Middle east and into Europe and Asia Minor. He could communicate with the people because of the Greek language. Jesus came at the perfect time for the Gospel to be spread.
When I think about this, I look around and see the natural timing we are in now. Travel is easier than ever, of course. But there is something else. The ease of communication is astounding.
The last 20 years have seen such a transformation in means of communication that it’s hard to keep up. Changes have come so rapidly that if you blink, you miss a new concept. You look around and realize that you are behind on the latest app or device.
I’m not by nature a “techy,” so I miss out on a lot, I’m sure.
But not my husband. My “gadget guy” is keenly aware of what is advancing and what is declining in the realm of technology. He’s constantly learning new techniques for communication and applying them where he can.
Which brings me to my main point.
I am convinced that all of the advances in communication and technology are gifts from God to allow His Word to be advanced. Think about it. Areas which at one time could not hear the Gospel can now hear it. People in remote areas who don’t know how to read and write – and who speak some isolated dialect, have the opportunity to hear the Word of God for the first time.
It’s astounding. And now for the terrific news.
For the last few weeks, Mickey has been developing and fine-tuning his latest version of a system which can provide teaching in 1600 languages and dialects to go into remote areas. He has developed a kit for the purpose.
The kit contains a projector which will hold an SD card for showing teaching in all of those languages. It also includes a battery, an amplifier, some horn speakers for outdoor use, and a microphone for on-the-spot messages.
All of this is packed in a small suitcase with wheels. It weighs only 23 pounds and is the perfect size to fit into the overhead compartments of airplanes.
The MVAS ( Mission Video and Audio System) contains everything one needs to have a portable sound and video system. It can go almost anywhere in the world. It will work in the city and it will work in the bush.
God’s timing for His communication is opening up many new possibilities.
Stay tuned and we will keep you updated on the latest developments.
In the meantime, be blessed and remember that you were born for such a time as this. You are an important part of God’s Plan.
Keep on Soaring,
